About Us

Our Formation Story

Aditi, a non-profit voluntary organization, has been functioning with the mission to facilitate a health-supportive environment for vulnerable and marginalized populations since being founded in 2003. For its first decade, Aditi worked committedly with deprived women and brought positive changes in their life through a series of innovative initiatives. The community-based organization (CBO), was registered under The Societies Registration Act, 1860 in 2003 and The Bombay Trust Act, 1950 in 2005. The most interesting fact about Aditi is its evolution. The idea of ‘Aditi’ was conceived on Women’s Day in 2003, with the dream of ensuring the health rights of female sex workers (FSWs) in the state. When Aditi began its work it was in survival mode. The projects were implemented to develop bonding with the community and simultaneously learned the approach towards community development. In these ten years, Aditi has not only acquired comprehensive skills in the area of health care, nutrition, and livelihood to facilitate inclusive opportunities for all.
